EPA SITE ASSESSMENT GRANT
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI
ASTI Environmental was contracted by Grand Traverse County to manage and implement an EPA Site Assessment Grant. The scope of services include; preparation of a project specific Quality Assurance Project Plan; preparation of site specific Sampling Plans and Health and Safety Plans; conducting Phase I, Phase II, asbestos and underground storage tank investigations; preparing Baseline Environmental Assessments; providing documentation and reporting to support the grant; and assisting the County with Brownfield redevelopment strategies.
In addition to implementing the technical aspects of these grants, ASTI Environmental assisted the County by facilitating site review, site prioritization, and project implementation. To streamline the approval process and determine how the grant would be allocated, we conducted facilitated workshops for both the grant program and the local site revolving loan fund. These workshops resulted in preparation of policy statements, evaluation criteria, and a nomination process
Site assessments have been conducted to support a range of projects including a mixed-use development project in the City of Grand Traverse and the redevelop efforts for the Grand Traverse Commons Barns (pictured above) into an outdoor amphitheater.
