ASTI Environmental was retained by a local southeastern Michigan Township to conduct a site investigation for a 249-acre multi-parcel property with identified recognized environmental concerns (RECs).  Previous investigations had identified the application of biosolids potentially containing PFAS compounds and upwards of 20 waste disposal pits on one or more of the parcels.  Given the size of the parcels, ASTI designed an incremental sampling program to assess impacts across the parcels that resulted in significant cost saving for the client.  Based on the analytical results showing impacts to both soil and groundwater, ASTI developed a soils management strategy as part a site-specific Due Care Plan to manage the identified environmental risks.
