As part of its green infrastructure initiative, Great Lakes Crossing Outlets of Auburn Hills (GLXO) voluntarily maintains the high ecological function and value of a former wetland mitigation site that now serves as a stormwater treatment area south of the main facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Since 2013, ASTI has assisted with the site’s annual monitoring activities, including assessments of on-site vegetation, inspections of site drainage structures, and evaluations of overall site infrastructure such as stormwater outlets, detention basins, basin berm integrity, and inlets. These efforts also include limited maintenance activities.
ASTI additionally provides habitat management planning services by identifying opportunities for habitat improvements, assessing and mapping invasive species coverage, and coordinating treatment activities with the selected treatment contractor. Since 2014, ASTI has completed annual EGLE aquatic nuisance treatment permitting for the site.
Finally, ASTI continues to work with GLXO to perform as-needed infrastructure updates and secure any required EGLE permitting associated with these efforts.
