ASTI was contracted by Grand Traverse County to manage and implement an EPA Site Assessment Grant.
The scope of services included: a project-specific Quality Assurance Project Plan; site-specific Sampling Plans and Health and Safety Plans; Phase I and Phase II investigations; asbestos and underground storage tank investigations; Baseline Environmental Assessments; and documentation and reporting to support the grant. ASTI also assisted the County with Brownfield redevelopment strategies.
Beyond technical implementation, ASTI facilitated site review, prioritization, and project implementation. To streamline the approval process and guide grant allocations, ASTI facilitated workshops for both the grant program and the local revolving loan fund. These workshops resulted in policy statements, evaluation criteria, and a nomination process.
Site assessments supported projects including a mixed-use development in the City of Grand Traverse and the redevelopment of the Grand Traverse Commons Barns into an outdoor amphitheater.
