- Asbestos-Containing Materials Inspections
ASTI provided asbestos-containing materials inspection support in conjunction with a pre-demolition hazardous materials/universal waste survey a former coal power plant constructed in 1915 in Detroit Michigan. The site contained a guard shack, a power block building (containing 12 floors), four transfer house stations, a screen house, a slurry house, a wastewater treatment building, a coal breaker house, a coal unloading house, a crane shelter, a dock unloading structure, a fly ash silo, and a boat club. ASTI’s activities were completed in compliance with the requirements of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs), the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), and DTE Energy’s Health and Safety initiatives.
ASTI personnel completed a comprehensive asbestos-containing material (ACM) inspection prior to the abatement and demolition of the buildings.
