ASTI Directors are active in the development and review of Federal and State of Michigan standards for environmental assessment, and in training and education. ASTI's Directors participate in the definition of professional environmental practice.

ASTI Directors bring more than 20 years of profressional experience in their respective areas of expertise.

Mr. Peter Collins - Director of Ecological Planning Group, is one of ASTI Environmental's co founders and is currently serving in the role of Director.  Mr. Collins holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a M.S. in Resource Ecology from the University of Michigan.  He is an active member with the Michigan Association of Planning, Michigan Association of Environmental Professionals, Michigan Aggregates Association, and the Society of Wetland Scientists.

Mr. George Kandler - Director of Property Services Group, is a certified environmental professional with over 30 years of experience and one the ASTI Environmental's owners.  He is an active member of the Building Industry Association of Southeast Michigan, American Society of Testing Materials, and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager.  Mr. Kandler recieved a B.S. in Biological Science from Michigan Technological University before obtaining an M.S. in Limnology from Michigan State University.

Mr. Thomas Wackerman - Director of the Brownfield Redevelopment Group, is the second of ASTI Environmental's two founders.  Mr. Wackerman is the chairmen for the University of Michigan/Urban Land Institute Real Estate Forum and a former member of Wayne State's Faculty.  He is active in Brownfield Redevelopment and serves on numerous Brownfield Redevelopment Authorities around the state of Michigan.  Mr. Wackerman earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan.

Ms. Dianne Martin - Director of the Resource Assessment and Management Group, is an ecological expert with years of experience serving clients throughout the Midwest.  Since arriving at ASTI Environmental in 1998 Ms. Martin has completed numerous projects ranging from Threatened and Endangered Species Surveys to Wetland Delineations.  She is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she earned a B.S. in Biology and Ms. Martin holds an M.S. from Eastern Michigan University.   Ms. Martin is a member of the Michigan Municipal League,  Commercial Real Estate for Women, and the Society of Wetland Professionals. 

Mr. Don Penniman - Director of Western Great Lakes office, oversees th e operation of ASTI Environmental's Western Great Lakes Office.  Mr. Penniman has more than 25 years of experience as an environmental consultant.  He is a graduate of Hope College and is currently pursing a graduate degree from Western Michigan University.

Mr. Doug Brown - Director of Development, connects clients to strategic real estate opportunities and is also responsible for client satisfaction and growing the ASTI brand throughout the Great Lakes Region.  Mr. Brown led the most successful Brownfield Transaction Forum ever and has received numerous  awards for excellence in economic development and real esate, including Commercial Inc. Magazine's "Elite Eight," the Michigan Economic Developers Association President's Award and the Horizon Award Trophy from Detroit Fusion - The Detroit Retional Chamber's Young Leader's Orgnization

Supporting ASTI's Service Group Directors is a group of highly experienced and skilled technical associates.

Mr. Jeremy Dague - CAD Specialist & IT Administrator, has experience working with AutoCAD 2000, 2002, 2005 and AutoCAD 2005 Land Development Desktop. Field experience includes conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.  Other software include Solid Edge, 3D Studio Max, and LISP Programming.

Mr. Brian Earl  - Environmental Scientist, is an experienced Hydrogeologist, providing hydrogeology, geology, project coordination, and general field services. Mr. Earl is a graduate of Central Michigan University where he earned a B.S. in Geology and Hydrogeology.

Mr. Steve Guyot - Environmental Scientist, has served as project manager on numerous environmental concerns throughout the midwest.  Mr. Guyot's resume includes hydgrogeological, remediations of petroleum contamination soils, and creating site specific clean - up plant.  He graduated from Lake Superior State University with a B.S. in Environmental Geology.

Mr. Kyle Hottinger - Wetland Ecologist, has specialized in wetland delineation, wetland quality assessment, mitigation design, permitting, ecosystem management, Phase II environmental property site assessments, and ground water monitoring and sampling.  He also has extensive experience in land surveying and global positioning systems use.  Mr. Hottinger has earned a B.S. in Resource Ecology from the University of Michigan - Flint.

Ms. Dana Knox  - Wetland Ecologist, is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she earned a B.S. in Natural Resource Management and Eastern Michigan where she earned an M.S. degree in Geology/Geography.  Knox is a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists, the Assocation of State Wetland Managers and the Livingston Sunrise Rotary.

Ms. Carey Kratz - Environmental Scientist, has performed Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and asbestos inspections of residential, commercial and industrial property in Michigan.  Ms. Kratz graduated from Lake Superior State University with a B.S. in Environmental Science.

Mr. Brian Kuberski - Environmental Scientist, is a graduate of the University of Michigan - Flint having earned a B.S. in Natural Resource Planning and Mangement.  Mr. Kuberski has worked on numerous project throught his career.  His skill set includes extensive remediation and restoration projects.

Mr. Kyle Hosler - GIS Technician, has experience working with ArcGIS 9.3 including Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst and Network Analysis extensions as well as ERDAS Imagine 2010.  His work with GIS applications includes Site Location Maps, ARC Objects, digital image processing, aerial photo interpretation, georectifications of digital imagery, and development of new feature classes.  Other softward includes ERDAS Imagine and Microsoft Office.  Mr. Lettieri currently holds a bacehlor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Eastern Michigan Universty and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in GIS.   

Mr. Matt Ramsey - Environmental Scientist, has provided consulting services for industrial, commercial, and private clients.  Mr. Ramsey’s principal experience is in property transfers including real estate transaction screens, Phase I and Phase II site assessments, lead-based paint surveys, and asbestos-containing material surveys.  He graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Natural Resource Management.

Mr. Paul Rentschler - Aquatic/Wetland Ecologist, has over 20 years of experience in ecological assessment, forestry, wildlife and fisheries research and management, watershed and storm water management, and wetland delineation. Mr. Rentschler is an active member ofr the Society of Wetland Scientists, Society of American Foresters, American Fisheries Society, and the International Society of Arboriculture.  He graduated from Michigan Technological University with  B.S. in Forestry and is currently finishing post graduate work at the University of Michigan.

Mr. Shawn Shadley - Environmental Scientist, has performed Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and asbestos inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial property in Michigan. The Property evaluations included site inspections, historical research, and contact with state and local agencies. He has identified Recognized Environmental Conditions in Phase I reports and has conducted necessary Phase II sampling.  Mr. Shadley is a graduate of Central Michigan University where he earned a B.S. in Geography and Environmental Science.

Ms. Lisa Sullivan - Environmental Scientist, specializes in surface and ground water quality monitoring and conducting Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs).  She has experience in water and soil sample collection, low-flow groundwater sampling, water quality data gathering for monitoring purposes, data entry analysis and interpretation, and report preparation.  Ms. Sullivan is an active member for the Society for Conservation Biology and the Society for Wetland Scientists.

Mr. Kevin Ushery - Technician, has provided environmental services for industrial, commercial, and private clients since 2002. His focus has been Lead Hazard Assessments, including Lead-based Paint Inspections and Risk Assessments per HUD and EPA requirements. He has also developed extensive experience in asbestos inspections and asbestos management. Specific tasks for this type of work include developing and implementing site sampling plans, sampling environmental media, site inspections, and preparing reports.

Mr. Sean Trowbridge - Environmental Scientist, has provided consulting services for industrial, commercial, and private clients.  Mr. Trowbridge’s principal experience is in property inspections including real estate transaction screens, Phase I and Phase II site assessments,  and asbestos-containing material surveys.  He graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Environmental Sciences.

Mr. Anthony Spencer - Mr. Spencer’s experiences include assisting with field activities such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Radon Monitoring, and Wetland Mitigation Projects. He also assists with preparation of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment reports.
